Manteo, Roanok Island NC. I knew there was a yarn shop around the Outer Banks, North Carolina, and I remembered one from years ago, the last time I went over to Roanok Island and it’s main town, Manteo. Fine Yarns at Kimbeeba is in what used to be an auto shop and under part of…
‘Lei Too Woo!’ I’m in the news again! Though I’m down in North Carolina recovering from several weeks of Spring shows and teaching a Skype with my folks reminded me that someone asked me for a photo and a blurb recently and now I’m featured in our local, and great, magazine: Kingston Life. I’m in…
/ Well, my Laptop Cozy for Kollaboration is done, I think I was the last person to turn in a project. I’m really pleased with collaboration with Trevor Waurechen and his Fossil illustration. Neither of us had any clue to what our link would bring forth. I rather like the colours I chose and hope…
When you visit a city for a workshop, you never get to really see the town, unless you meet a wonderful woman like Nancy. I sat next to her at Friday’s lunch and we got chatting. She has lived and worked in Minneapolis for years working, I believe, with museums among other things. I asked…

My dear friend Deirdre way out there on the East coast passed this on to me and I just love it! Knitting machines must have been used….I hope the knitter(s) were justly remunerated. Enjoy.
Just how cute is this little jacket? While slaving away over a hot knitting machine, yesterday, my friend Rose appeared, after much travel, including her native South Africa, bearing gifts. Her grandmother had passed away and among her things were knitting patterns from the ’40’s (I couldn’t find a date) and this is from the…
This little one I was knitting this one while I was at the One of a Kind Christmas in Toronto (…trying to avoid US economy!) trying to get it done in time for my stepdaughter’s Toronto baby shower. It was the Yoda coat and a little hat and some booties worked from some wonderful…
