Polymer Clay Button Making

Make some creative finishing touches for your fibre arts by working with polymer clay to make buttons, for sewn knit or woven clothing. Also we make pins and sticks for buttonless sweaters and wraps.

You will learn to use clay, work with colour, how to shape and cut.

You will leave class with a complete kit to continue making buttons, including tools, selection of coloured clay and instructions.

Felting a Hat / Bag

This class works on a smaller more manageable item than a vest. Working with wool roving and adding yarns, silk and other bits and pieces to embellish you will createa three dimensional item...a hat or a bag...then work it to it's completion.

You will be using water, soap and physical agitation standing at a table so have a good breakfast....there's lots of rolling activity.

Felting a Vest

In this class you will be introduced to creating Nuno felt using prefelted wool and pieces of silk and other materials to embellish your vest.

Melding wool roving and soft silk fabric you will learn to create a soft drapeable fabric piece which will become your vest. Participants will put together materials however they see fit and have fun creating.

You will be using water, soap and physical agitation standing at a table so have a good breakfast....there's lots of rolling activity.

Machine Knitting

Learn to knit using your knitting machine or progress beyond the scarves you have been knitting on it. Using 100% wool, the best and most forgiving, for learning with, you will work on a project that you will be able to wear, a pullover or, for the more advanced, a cardigan with buttonholes.

In my studio we will plan the project then work on shaping, hems, decoration and working with colour.

I have extra machines to work on if you don't yet have one of your own.
