Carolyn M. Barnett Designs was born in Toronto in 1982 and relocated to Kingston, Ontario, Canada when I moved here in 1995. I had specialized in one of a kind, hand-loomed knit cardigans & jackets and wraps using wool and cotton…My Knit Artwear!….and my Felted Wearables…for 41 years.
Now retired but still creating in my studio (an artist never stops) some of my work may still be available at my online shops.
Founded in Toronto in 1982, on June 2nd 2022 I celebrated four decades as an artisan.
Something a little different from my studio.
Simple sewn jacket of cotton with patches of colourful fabric free motion stitched on the body and sleeves. Sewn covered buttons
Combining classic simplicity and funkiness I have knit for all ages from 8 weeks to 80+ years, and various theatre and commercial productions.
Giving workshops and classes in Machine Knitting, felting, polymer clay Button Making and Garment Designer, the software I use has had me travelling far and wide to spread the word!
